Superintendent's Message 2024-25

Dear Bangor Union School District Community,

I am thrilled to welcome families, students and staff, as we embark on another successful year at Bangor Union, guided by our vision and fortified by our collective commitment to excellence.

As we proudly declare, "Small School. Big Impact. One Family.", this tagline encapsulates who we are and what we strive to achieve each day. Our size may be modest, but our impact is monumental, touching the lives of students, families, and our community in profound ways. We are not just a school; we are a tight community that is endowed with our communities' trust.  We are united by a shared mission to nurture and educate.

At Bangor Union, our vision is to provide a classically inspired education with an intimate family feel. This means that every student is seen, heard, and valued as an individual. We understand the power of personal connection and tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each learner. Through this personalized approach, we cultivate a love of learning that transcends the classroom and prepares our students for a lifetime of intellectual curiosity, growth and leadership.

We are committed to developing leaders who can make a global impact from the sensibilities of a small-town mindset. Through critical thinking, creativity, and effective communication, our students are equipped to navigate the complexities of the modern world with confidence and resilience.

Integral to our mission is the cultivation of character. We instill values of integrity, compassion, and civic responsibility in every aspect of our curriculum. Service to others is not just encouraged; it's ingrained in our culture. We believe that by fostering a sense of community and service, we are preparing our students to be leaders of personal liberty and agents of positive change.

As we journey together this year, let us continue to embody the spirit of "Small School. Big Impact. One Family." Let us celebrate our unique strengths, embrace our shared values, and seize every opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

With deep gratitude and excitement about Bangor's’ future,

Scott Johnson
